Civil War Confederate Army Revolver with Antique Grey Finish - Replica of Classic Six Shot Cap and Ball Percussion Pistol Used by CSA Forces - Nice Replica Prop Gun Review

This piece is a full-size non-firing reproduction of the cap-and-ball pistol made by Griswold and Gunnison and used by Confederate forces in the Civil War. The grips are made of real wood. The rest of the piece is made of metal. With this type of pistol, powder charges and bullets were loaded into each chamber on the barrel-side of the cylinder. (The loading lever on this replica is movable to simulate this process.) Explosive caps were placed on the hammer side of the cylinders. When the hammer struck a cap, the cap ignited the powder in the chamber, causing an explosion that propelled the bullet out of the barrel. This piece features a working action. When you cock the hammer, the cylinder turns. When the trigger is pulled, the hammer is released. Overall Length: 13.5 inches. This replica would be great for costume or nonfiring re-enactment use. It would also make a great film or theater prop. (The chances are good that you have already seen this item used in movies.) Or it could simply be a nice display or conversation piece.
